How do I know that the analyzer is working?

  1. The main button on the MD Monitor screen is labelled Stop in orange;
    the analyzer is perfusing the catheter and reading data.
  2. The main button on the MD Monitor screen is labelled CAL in yellow;
    the analyzer is calibrating and will resume data sampling when the calibration has finished successfully.
  3. The main button on the MD Monitor screen is labelled RESUME in yellow;
    the analyzer is waiting for the patient to be reconnected so the data sampling can be resumed.
  4. The main button on the MD Monitor screen is labelled Start in green;
    the analyzer is waiting for the start up process to be completed. Follow the on screen guide.

The analyzer is failing calibrations, what to do?

Several possible causes, please check:

  1. Is the main button the MD Monitor displaying the text CAL? The system is calibrating and will continue presenting data within 30 minutes.
  2. Has the MD Sensor expired? Replace if necessary.
  3. Is the perfusion fluid syringe empty? Replace if necessary.
  4. Is the Calibration fluid syringe empty? Replace if necessary.
  5. Is there a flow in the catheter? Remove the “vial holder” and check that there is a flow.

I get strange values on MD Monitor, why?

There are several possible causes, please check:

  1. Is the catheter properly connected to the MD Sensor?
  2. Is there flow in the catheter? Disconnect the catheter from MD Sensor and check that there is a flow in the “vial holder”.
  3. Is the perfusion syringe empty? Replace if necessary.

I can’t see any graphs on my analyzer, why?

Try to:

  1. Press the View button
  2. Change the scaling for each analyte
  3. Change the time scaling

I can’t see the Glucose graph for MD Monitor, why?

The Y axis scaling may be wrong. To change the scaling for a specific analyte, please change in the Settings dialog.

The analyzer has stopped working and I don’t know why

  • Please check the screen for any messages. Follow any instruction presented.
  • If the main button is yellow with the text CAL, the analyzer is calibrating. Sampling will continue within 30 minutes.
  • If the main button is yellow with the text RESUME, the analyzer is waiting for the patient to be reconnected. Follow the on screen instructions.

Message on MD Monitor; Waiting for a connection

  • Check that MD Unit is on and is running
  • Check that ethernet cable between MD Unit and MD Monitor is properly connected and without visual damage
  • Restart MD Monitor
  • Restart MD Unit
  • If possible, try using another ethernet cable
  • If problem remains, please contact M Dialysis Service Center or your local distributor

Message on MD Monitor; MD Sensor is not connected

  • Check that MD Sensor is properly connected to the MD Amplifier
  • Check that the cable between MD Unit and MD Amplifier is properly connected and without visual damage.
  • Check that MD Sensor is without visual damage
  • Check that MD Amplifier is without visual damage
  • If possible, try connecting another MD Sensor
  • If possible, try using another MD Amplifier
  • If problem remains, please contact M Dialysis Service Center or your local distributor

No message, system freeze

  • Restart MD Monitor
  • Restart MD Unit
  • If problem remains, please contact M Dialysis Service Center or your local distributor
